Trenton Concert in aid of Stirling Musical Instrument Lending Library

The Stirling MILL, as it is known, now has satellite locations at many local libraries, including that of Quinte West, which in spring 2021 became the first. Instruments can be picked up and dropped off at these locations for MILL members, who pay an annual fee.

Three acts will perform in the concert.

“Music is medicine,” says blues artist Peg Voigt, who will perform dance music alongside veteran guitarist Al Bergman.

Cindy McCredie and Scott Maybee are part of Northumberland County’s Wicklow Quartet.

As an acoustic duo, they cover classic country and folk tunes as well as modern rock and indie tunes. There will be banjo.

Todd Olmstead plays folk, rock and country tunes. He will be joined by experienced musicians Ken MacDonald and Robert Farnell, who will each share lead vocals.

There will also be a silent auction.

All proceeds will support MILL, the Partner Libraries Program and Music Link 55, a locally run online ukulele course for seniors.

Other MILL satellites are Belleville, Campbellford, Brighton, Warkworth, Hastings, Marmora and Madoc Libraries.

The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 110, 19 Quinte Street, Trenton. Tickets are $10. The building has an elevator for those who need it.
