HELLO, WELCOME TO INSIDER! TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT WHO IS COTTER HILL?
First of all, thank you very much for having me. I was born and raised in eastern Tennessee in a city called Cleveland, TN. I am the youngest of five siblings. I have three sisters and a brother. I grew up playing baseball which is my favorite sport and during the off season decided to learn guitar and played in rock bands throughout high school. After I graduated I started writing my own music and let life unfold and moved to Nashville in 2016 and have been traveling the country and writing and recording music ever since.

WERE YOUR PARENTS INTERESTED IN MUSIC?
They don’t really play or sing, but they love listening to music and growing up hearing all the singers and bands they really loved rubs off on me and it really helped me develop love and interest. for the music I have today.

AT WHAT AGE DID YOU WRITE YOUR FIRST SONG? WHAT WAS IT?
I think I was around 19 when I wrote my first song. I don’t remember what it was about, but if I had to say it, it probably would have been a sad and heartbreaking song. These are my favorite to write.

WHAT SONG IS THE ONE THAT GIVEN YOU THE SENSE THAT YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK?
I don’t think it was a certain song that made me feel like I was on the right track. I think it’s the fact that every song I wrote I could tell they all got better with time and practice and that motivated me and kept me on track.

WHAT DOES COUNTRY MUSIC MEAN TO YOU?
It means so much that I love country music. I love that you can tell real stories and share your feelings and it can help other people who relate to those stories as well.

WHO DO YOU LIKE TO LISTEN TO AS A FAN?
I really love listening to the Eagles, they are a huge influence for me, but I also love ’90s country.

BASED ON WHAT YOU LEARNED IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GIVE TO FUTURE INDEPENDENT ARTISTS?
I would say build yourself a circle, a team of friends that you trust and who help you become a better person and a better musician / writer. Never give up, no matter how hard it gets, and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make it.

WILL YOUR FANS BE ABLE TO SEE YOU SOON?
Yes I have a few shows coming up, you can check those dates on my Cotterhillmusic.com website and this summer we will definitely be adding more, so stay tuned for those coming soon.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME COTTER AND GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR FUTURE OUTPUTS!
Thanks a lot!
