Green Heron is the star performer in the upcoming Hancock Depot Cabaret, scheduled for Saturday February 5 at Hancock Depot.

“They’re really great,” said cabaret organizer David Young of Hancock, who called Green Heron’s music “trampling”. “They are really great.”

Green Heron, consisting of Betsy (Green) Heron and Scott Heron, plays old-school Americana string music with fiddle, guitar, and claw-hammer banjo. Betsy was raised in a country music background and still performs in her family band, The Green Sisters. Scott was a touring metal artist who found bluegrass and country later in his musical career, and this unlikely two formed Green Heron.

The Cabaret will also feature multiple open mic slots. Those interested in performing should arrive by 7:30 p.m. to register; the show starts at 8 p.m.

The event is BYOB.

The Hancock Depot Cabaret takes place the first Saturday of each month. If you are interested in playing, renting the Depot for an event, or want more information, email [email protected] or call 508-641-0076 or 603-525-3085.
