Mumbai: Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corp (HSBC) business loan portfolio in India has grown at a compound rate of 16% over the past five years, thanks to a tripling of loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) . The UK-based lender hopes to continue to overtake the market thanks to demand from emerging sectors such as commercial real estate, renewable energy and consumer-oriented industries, said Rajat Verma, head of commercial banking.
