BLACKPINK Becomes Most Subscribed Music Artist on YouTube; Lisa breaks THAT YouTube record for ‘LALISA’
BLACKPINK is really in everything! The queens of the music industry, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa cannot be stopped as they have repeatedly proven their influence around the world. Whether it’s fashion or K-pop, they walk confidently with none other than their darling mass of fans, the BLINKs.
The girl group took another step forward with their official YouTube channel “BLACKPINK” which broke the 65.2 million subscriber mark on September 10 at around 2:42 p.m. KST (11:12 a.m. IST). Simultaneously, they also became the most subscribed artist on the platform, overtaking Canadian superstar Justin Bieber.
They reached that number 4 years and 3 months after their YouTube launch on June 28, 2016. The ‘BLACKPINK’ channel climbed to number two in September 2020, crossing over to DJ Marshmello with his own 48.8 million subscribers. .
The girls expressed their happiness with, “We can’t believe it. It’s a miraculous moment created by BLINK. We want to share this honor with our fans around the world who love us and always support us. They added: “As this result has been achieved with our fans, we hope that the fans will appreciate it as well. We will become artists who will continue to give positive energy through great music and videos.
On the same day, member Lisa released her debut album ‘LALISA’ with a music video for the title song of the same name. The gripping clip broke a record when it became the first fastest clip in YouTube history to reach 10 million views, in 90 minutes.
